For Mother’s Day, especially, cashmere is always my gift of choice, and Castanea’s spring/summer collection feels particularly appropriate this year because I designed it to evoke those soothing and heartwarming feelings we associate with home. When we’re at home, we tend to feel our most relaxed and content. We’re often at our most confident too, and the same could be said when we’re with our mums. Of course, March is optimum cardigan-wearing weather too, isn’t it? It’s that time of year when it either looks warm outside, but feels cold, or vice versa. Niamhs Cashmere Cardigan in Butternut hits just the right note for these in between months of March and April in particular. It offers a modern take on the traditional Aran design, with its cable-knit detailing and grandfather silhouette, but the honeyed shade of Butternut elevates it to the status of a modern classic.
